I've had a couple of days of but David and Melissa have continues with some fantastic work with little Ged as I have decided to call him. Ged apparently means brave and is one thing this little boy certainly is.
After a sleepless night I came up with a plan today to try and get the lead and collar of our newbie.....
Not the easiest or most pleasant to watch or execute, but such a massive hurdle over come for him. The relief and calming signals he displayed when the lead came over his head is something I will never forget......
A really shocking case arrived yesterday after being found abandoned in a field in rural Northumberland.
This little Staffordshire Bull Terrier is in absolutely shocking condition. He is quite clearly emaciated and showing severe signs of fear aggression. He has a metal chain tied around his neck and a collar that has somehow caught behind his front leg, meaning it's almost like a holster!
This really is a disturbing case, and one that is going to be a real big challenge.....
If you know anything about whose this dog is or where he came from please contact the animal welfare team at Northumberland Council.
This probably doesn't sound much but I put Haden and Lennox in with Eden today and left them all a hide chew. Haden ate his and Lennox 's as expected but after several hours I caught Eden eating hers with the boys lying next to her. Of course she stopped as soon as the camera came out, but that is the first time ever she has ate with another dog and/or people present.....
There no show show without punch as they say, and Axel wasn't going to be out done. I'm sure you'll all remember what a state and how entrusting he was when he arrived.....

There was sensational work from Rich and Keene today..... work I thought I may never see! You may remember how Keene loved to have his lead in his mouth and on arrival was notorious for chewing through standard leads. This lead to me buying a wire slip lead especially for him.....
Rich has grown to love Keene and has really moved him forward. I can take no credit for the image below of Keene enjoying a walk on a normal lead other than holding the camera. I am so proud of them both.....
