We had the pleasure of a wonderful house guest for a couple of days last week, although the circumstances in which she arrived were simply horrific. Poppy was found tied to a tree in a crematorium, claws horrendously long, teeth rotten, eyes oozing with infection, flaky skin throughout her coat, but worst of all was her actual condition. The dog wardens took her to the vets thinking she was pregnant as she was lactating milk, it was in some sense a lot worse.
Poppy had a huge womb infection known as a pyometra, and if the dog wardens hadn't taken her to be operated on she could of died. Thankfully she didn't and we welcomed her into our home until a more permanent foster was found. She is now recovering, and enjoying the benefits of home cooking, such a darling how could anyone of treat her that way?
